CREATE ART WITH THE PINE BLUFF ART LEAGUE
SMALL BEGINNINGS
In 1942, charter members Eva Jane Pearson, Margaret Gerin, Carlton Fox, H. F. Dial, A. D. Farrell, Adele Hudson, Edith Combs, and Myrtle Kueck founded the Brush & Pallet Guild. The group consisted of classically trained artists and professionals.
Throughout the decades, membership grew and found home in the Little Fire House Studio. There, seasonal community classes were enjoyed by the community. Later the organization renamed itself the Pine Bluff Art League. Despite its title, it provides artists within Southeast Arkansas an avenue to create. Today it resides in the Donald W. Reynold's Community Services Center.
Members attend monthly meetings, provide community workshops, and exhibit in the space. With The ARTx3 Campus, the league holds its annual exhibition. The Campus is an accredited institution with the American Alliance of Museums.
